Follow our step-by-step picture guide to create your heart cards in a few quick steps.
Materials Needed
- Colored paper or cardstock
- Scissors
- Ruler (optional)
- A pencil/markers
Cut Out Your Heart
Free-hand draw a heart on paper or print a simple heart clipart from online to use as a stencil, and cut it out.
Or you can use the easy method for a perfect heart by folding your paper in half, but try your best not to create a crease along the center. We want to do our best not to have a fold mark or crease down the middle.
Add Your Message
Write a sweet note or poem inside. Make it as personal or generic as you’d like the message to be. Need some inspiration, check out these fun little sayings from Mommy Made That blog, https://www.mommymadethat.com/valentine-sayings-for-kids/, perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Fold the Sides
Fold the sides of your heart inwards, towards the center. About an inch or inch and a half of paper on each side. Use your ruler to make the folds crisp and even.
Create the Envelope Flap
Next, fold the point of the heart upwards to form the flap of your envelope. You will align your flap’s crease with the bottom of the now semi-circles, created from our folded sides (the step before).
Final Fold
Fold the top half of the folded heart down towards the envelope flap’s crease.
Secure
Close your envelope with a heart sticker or colorful label.
Personalize your heart envelope with decorations, stickers, or a special message on the outside.
These heart envelopes are not just a joy to make but also a joy to give. They are the embodiment of the essence of Valentine's Day - showing love in a thoughtful, personal way. Remember, it's not about grand gestures; sometimes, it's these little tokens of love that hold the most meaning.
