Memorial Day: Thank a Fallen Soldier Craft
Honor fallen soldiers with this adorable Memorial Day soldier craft. Freedom is not free, heroic men and women have paid the price of freedom with their lives. We could never thank them enough but we can pay homage and celebrate their selfless triumphs. I found the cutest solider craft on Miss Kindergarten for the little ones. Whether you are at home or in the classrooms, this soldier craft is perfect for kids between ages 5 to 8.
Teach them about soldiers and all they have done to keep us safe. Then ask them to write a soldier a letter stating what they would say if they could tell them anything. With all of the excitement Memorial Day weekend brings, its important not to lose sight of what is truly being celebrated.
What You’ll Need
Draw a circle for the face and two hands on a sheet of paper
Cut the circle and hands out
Now use green paper to draw the shape of a hat and upper body
Don’t forget to make a chin strap!
Cut the hat out
Glue the head to the shirt
Give your soldier some hair!
Now glue the chin strap and hat on
Take a colored sheet of paper then paste a white sheet on top for writing
Glue the colored paper onto the shirt. Then glue the hands on each side of the paper.
Have your little ones write a short message to a solider. Be sure to give him a face!
